Election Commission will Begin Facility to Download PDF Version of Electoral Photo Identity Card

Election Commission of India (ECI) is beginning the facility to download PDF version of Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) from 25th January 2021. The foundation day of ECI, 25 January is also observed as National Voters’ Day.  E-EPIC is also a non-editable and secure PDF version of the voter card. With this facility, electors do not have to wait for physical voter card to arrive and they will be able to download the electronic copy of the document. Voters can also take print of EPIC or can store it digitally.

Two New Species of Ants Discovered in India

In Indian states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, scientists have discovered two new species of a rare ant genus. Ooceraea joshii is found in Periyar Tiger Reserve of Kerala. It is named after Professor Amitabh Joshi, a notable evolutionary biologist from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR). Moreover, the other species Ooceraea decamera is discovered in Alagarkoil in Madurai.

Though Sindhu made the cut without any fuss.
