HCL Collaborates with IIT Kanpur for Cybersecurity
Major IT firm HCL Tech has inked a MoU with IIT Kanpur to collaborate in the field of cybersecurity. The agreement will enhance capabilities in cybersecurity area. HCL will work with C3iHub, a specialised cybersecurity research centre at IIT Kanpur. As per a statement, team will work together to discover and manage cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risks for critical infrastructure.

On February 16, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Maharaja Suheldev Memorial via videoconferencing. Apart from that, the prime minister will also lay the foundation stone for the development work of Chittaura Lake in the Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. 3 Rockets Strike Near US Base in Iraq
On Monday at least three Rockets struck outside an airport near US forces base in northern Iraq. It killed one US-led coalition contractor and also wounded at least eight other people including few civilians. Iraqi security and coalition officials confirmed this news and said that this incident sparked fears of new hostilities.
Missing Dubai Princess Sheikha Latifa says ‘I was Being Held Hostage’
The daughter of Dubai’s ruler was missing since March 2018 when she tried to escape from the Emirates by sea. The princess aired a video in which she said that she is being kept as a hostage in a Jail Villa in Dubai. But now, she is safe and back in her home in London. She also told that in that Jail Villa every day she fears for her safety and life. However, the Dubai authorities did not respond to a request for comment on this matter. Latifa also said that she was held for approximately three months in the Al-Awir central prison in Dubai, until May 2018, before being moved to the villa.
NASA’s Perseverance Rover Will Visit the Red Planet in Search of Life
NASA launched Perseverance on July 30, 2020, during the window when Mars and Earth were the closest to each other. A trip to Mars which is about 300 million miles away takes about seven to eight months. Scientists expected that the Perseverance rover will land at the Jezero Crater on the Red Planet on Thursday. After landing, the rover will resume its work to look for signs of past life.
New York Attorney General Sues Amazon Over COVID-19 Shortfalls
On Tuesday, New York Attorney General Letitia James sued Amazon.com Inc. The reason for suing the company was its handling of worker safety issues around the COVID-19 pandemic at two warehouses. Moreover, in the filed complaint, James said that Amazon’s drive for faster growth and higher profits led to its “flagrant disregard”.
