Indian Finance Minister Announced 8 New Schemes with Health and Tourism in Focus

On June 28, Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman, announced series of relief measures for various sectors including the health infrastructure. As different sectors in the country are making efforts to revive the economy from the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the finance ministry has come up with various measures including Rs. 1.1 lakh crore loan guarantee scheme.

This scheme is for the COVID-affected people and another addition of Rs. 1.5 lakh crore is under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme. Nirmala Sitharaman in her latest briefing announced 8 measures. She informed that out of them, four were new initiatives.

Cipla is a Mumbai-based multinational pharmaceutical company. With this Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine will become the fourth vaccine to be available in India after Covishield, COVAXIN, and Sputnik.

On June 29, Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Prakash Javadekar has inaugurated NATRAX- the High-Speed Track (HST) for automobiles in Indore. The newly inaugurated track is the longest track in Asia and also it is the world’s fifth-longest track.

This high-speed track has been developed in an area of 1000 acres of land. For all sorts of high-speed performance tests for the widest categories of vehicles ranging from 2 wheelers to heavy tractor-trailers, it is a one-stop solution.

Russia Started Construction of 5th Nuclear Power Unit at Kudankulam

Russia has begun the construction of a fifth Nuclear Power Unit at Kudankulam. This nuclear power plant is the largest nuclear power in India. It is located in Kudankulam town in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu. This project was started on March 31 in 2002 but it faced several delays because of opposition from local fishermen. This development is a significant step in bilateral relations between both countries (India and Russia). This Nuclear Power plant has six units and each unit has a 1,000 MWe generation capacity. It after the construction it will become India’s first light water reactor.
