The Reserve Bank of India on 17 August has introduced the first financial inclusion index. This will improve and measure the growth of financial inclusion in the country. RBI’s financial inclusion index (FI-Index) is published every year in the month of July. This FI-Index is a comprehensive index and it will assist in incorporating the details of banking, insurance, investments, postal and pension sector. The first annual reading of FI-Index for the period ending in March 2021 has come in at 53.9 as against 43.4 for the period ending March 2017.

Since then, citizens are desperately trying to flee the land-locked country and they have been rushing to the capital’s airport.

The HCL Technologies arm of social responsibility, HCL Foundation, has launched an online portal, ‘My e-Haat’.  This will empower artisans and strengthen the fee chain of the handicraft quarter in the country and allow them to conduct their business. This portal will help in listing and showcasing their merchandise directly to customers. Up till now, more than 30 partners from eight states with over 600 products are listed on the portal. This portal will be a one-of-a-kind model (A2C) where artisans will join with the client for the coming years.

The Interior Minister of France has informed the media that they have dispatched hundreds of firefighters to tackle a wildfire. The fire was broke out in Southern France on August 16.
