RBI said that the device-based tokenization framework of January 2019 and August 2021 has been extended to Card-on-Fite Tokenization (CoFT) services as well. Moreover, the card issuers have been allowed to use card tokenization services as Token Service Providers.

The Center Government of India has created a National Farmers Database with a record of 5.5 crore farmers. The Database hopes to increase 8 crore farmers by the end of this year. National Farmers Database has to be linked with the state land record databases, according to Agriculture Minister. For the advancement in the digital Agriculture system, it is important to link it with digital technology and scientific research.

The national database has been collected from existing national schemes such as PM-KISAN and the insurance scheme PM Fasal Bima Yojna. Furthermore, 5.5 crore farmers have been identified with the help of this database.

iPhones will Satellite Connectivity

The Internet has been crowded with the news that the iPhone of next-generation can have satellite connectivity. Satellite connectivity can enable it to make calls without a cellular network. Top analyst of Apple Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple’s next-generation iPhone 13 will feature a Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) satellite communication mode. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites operate at 311 miles which are around 500 kilometers above the Earth’s surface, unlike traditional satellites that are stationed at a higher level. As LEO satellites are closer to the earth’s surface, the time needed for data to be sent and returned is shorter.

Venkatesh Prasad and Devendra Jhajharia are Selected for Year 2021 National Sports Awards Selection Committee

Devendra Jhajharia who is a three-time Paralympics medal-winner, former cricketer Venkatesh Prasad, and ex-world champion boxer L Sarita Devi are nominated for the 2021 year’s National Sports Awards. Retired judge of Supreme Court Justice Mukundakum Sharma has been chosen as the chairperson of the committee. The award list also includes former shooter Anjali Bhagwat, and Anjum Chopra who is captain of the women’s cricket team. Recently, Jhajharia has won a silver medal at the Paralympics 2020 and has won two gold medals in 2004 and 2016. The committee will decide the winners in the upcoming days.
