About the author of ‘The Alchemist’:

Paulo Coelho is a Brazilian lyricist and novelist and best known for his book The Alchemist. Coelho escaped three times from mental institution before being released at the age of 20. Coelho was born into a Catholic family. At his parents’ wishes, the author enrolled in law school and abandoned his dream of becoming a writer. After one year he dropped out and lived life as a hippie, traveling through different countries. Coelho also worked as a songwriter and  composed many lyrics.
