Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is going to launch a digital portal called e-RUPI Digital Payment Solution on August 2, 2021. The e-RUPI is an e-voucher-based digital payment solution. It is an initiative to limit the touch-points between government and beneficiary. This digital platform also has the benefit of reaching its intended beneficiaries in a targeted and leak-proof manner. The e-RUPI, a one-time payment mechanism that allows users to redeem vouchers without using any cards.

Government of India Announced Reservation of 27% for OBCs and 10% for EWS in Medical Seats

The central government has announced the percentage of reservations in medical seats. The government allows 27% reservation for OBCs and a quota for 10% for students from the economically weaker sections (EWS) in undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental courses under the All-India Quota (AIQ) scheme. In the AIQ scheme, seats at UG level is of 15%, and at the PG level, seats of 50% are kept domicile free in medical and dental government colleges.

ISRO-NASA Joint Mission will Launch NISAR Satellite in 2023

The NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) is a joint mission of US based NASA and Indian space research agency ISRO. China Imposed COVID-19 Lockdown as the Country Battles Delta Variant Outbreak

Around millions of people in China are forced to stay at their homes as the country is trying to contain its largest coronavirus outbreak. On Monday, China reported 55 new locally transmitted coronavirus cases and with this the cases of Delta variant reached over 20 cities and more than a dozen provinces. Local governments of major cities including Beijing have now started mass testing and cordoning off residential compounds under quarantine.

On Sunday, Bangladesh and India started freight trains to restore the regular operation through the Haldibari-Chilahati rail route. This route has been started after over 50 years. Now, this step will strengthen railway connectivity and trade relation between these two countries.
